It’s All Good.

A little sad working on the last season Rocko DVD cover. ( But there may be a surprise in the future. We will see)

I’m loving that it finally cooled down here in LA. My days consist of working on a feature screenplay I’ve been commissioned to do a re-write on, still tweaking on the Frog in a Suit Comic book ( mostly with it’s distribution), developing a new class, and painting on this Rocko DVD cover. Also grabbing work on Fish Head when I can. I’m loving all of it.

Checked on the Giants score last night during a break at the opera. Buster Posey and Placido Domingo. A good combo.

It’s all good.

Great to hear Joe. Glad everything is all good. Thanks again for Rocko Live. My brother and I had a great time, very inspirational.

  2. Dan Sills says:

Rocko Live was a blast! Definitely worth the plane ride there and back. Wish I could’ve stayed longer.

The season 4 cover’s looking great. I like that it references specific episodes. Nice to see Hutch on there this time (Looks like she has both hands though, but I assume you caught that if you’re in the painting stage.)

  3. Joe Murray says:

Yes, I caught that Dan. Thanks though. I should put fact checking to all of you guys. Probably know some of these things better than I do these days.

  4. Raul says:

It’s indeed a bit sad to know that it’s the last season, but it looks fantastic! As Dan said, love all the episode references. Also great to see not only Hutch on it, but also Virginia, who’s way up there in my favorite characters of the show. Any info on what time it’s gonna be released yet? Also, will Rocko Live be the bonus feature or will that be on a separate DVD?

  5. Connor O'Brien says:

Can’t wait to see your Frog in a Suit comic! And good luck to the Giants, it was a pretty depressing year here in Boston needless to say!

  6. Nick Yosick says:

The Season Four cover looks awesome! Can’t wait to see it finished! Also wanted to say thanks for taking the time to draw Mr. Cheese on the Season Three DVD that I bought from your online store. Glad to hear that everything is going well for you Joe.

  7. jestoon says:

    Love the fact that Shout factory finished what they started…. too many studios release a season or two, but dont finish a show {cough, cough, disney}

  8. Brody says:

This is the best cover yet! I love the magic meatball. And I love Filbert’s nauseated look, lol.

And I’m not sad at all that this is the last season released on DVD. I’m thrilled to see it. I can’t even begin to tell you how many shows pre-21st century (including many Nickelodeon shows), get their first seasons released on DVD, and then get put on hold indefinitely bc of low sales. And it’s horrible for the fans, who actually want to see, and own these shows again. So to see an older show get it’s entire series released, is fantastic.

Also I’m very excited to see surprise. I think I might have an idea what it may be. But I will keep it to myself, as you clearly can’t talk about it at this moment.

Can’t wait for the FIAS comic book.

  9. Bill Cass says:

Ed trapped in the magic meatball is the icing on the cake here, I love it. I really enjoy having such vibrant illustrations and colors on the Season 2 and 3 covers in my collection. Plus, autographed editions are pretty friggin’ sweet :)

Your days sound productive! I hope mine can return to being as productive too.

Hey, Joe! Loved you Rockos Live! It was so cool seeing all of you! Excited for the Frog In A Suit comic! Any news about new episodes? Or better yet sending them to a channel like, Mondo or Smosh’s cartoon channel? Just wondering…

  11. Spike says:

Sweet can’t wait for season 4 to be released :) . I loved Rocko’s Modern Life ever since I seen the first episode after a Ren & Stimpy episode in 1993. I might wait to see if Shout Factory releases a box set though so I can get them all at once.

  12. Jonny Modlin says:

Excited about Rocko’s Modern Life Season 4 on DVD? When is Shout! Factory going to give info for Rocko’s Modern Life Season 4 on DVD?

  13. Dave Riem says:

I love that Ed is inside the Magic Meatball…Brilliant!

I’d like to personally thank you, Joe, for creating such awesome animation that has stuck in my mind for the last 20 years! I remember recording the Rocko’s Modern Life Marathon on Thanksgiving with a VHS tape when I was much younger.

  14. Martin says:

    Hey Joe

I’m not sure who’s decision it was to decide that a complete series set happened NOW but I’m glad this happened (even if I did buy the previous individual seasons …).

But why is it that the Canadians release date changed/delayed ’til May 7th 2013 while the US has theirs now?

  15. Matthew Poulin says:

I was wondering how much longer we will have to wait until the 4th Season of Rocko’s Modern Life will be released on dvd individually for us who bought the other 3 seasons individually and if it will include the Rocko Live Video like the complete series dvd has plus how much it will cost
