In the green room before going on stage. Doug Lawrence (Filburt) Carlos Alazraqui ( Rocko) Me, Tom Kenny ( Heffer) and Charlie Adler ( The Bigheads) First time we had all been together since 1996.Myself, Carlos, Tom, Charlie, Doug and our amazing moderator Rob Paulson

Flying by the Seat of our Pants: Rocko event was like the show. Loose & Fun

It was strange to have us altogether again. And the guys who were usually late to the records were late to the event as well. ( getting lost, flat tires, no excuses.) So no rehearsal, a quick sound check and we were off. And I have to say, these guys jumped into it like they did their last Rocko record yesterday instead of a 16 year break. Our moderator, voice actor Rob Paulson, did an all star job at keeping all of us in line, asking appropriate and inappropriate questions.

We ended up reading the episode Wacky Delly ( which I failed to mention that the animated version was directed by Mark, O’hare, Steve Hillenburg, Dan Povenmire and Swampy Marsh) Written by Martin Olson and myself.

Dan Povenmire and Swampy Marsh (former Rocko directors and co-creators of Phineas and Ferb) got up and sang the “Recycle Song” from Zanzibar ( With Dan at guitar). There was a crazy Q & A. A signing that went on a long time. ( Not complaining.) I also had some former students at the event as well who came a long way to catch it.

I also formerly announced that my wife and I are expecting a baby, due in March. I’ll try and shield him (her) from the brain damaging effect of Rocko for awhile.

Thank you to everyone who attended, helped, supported. We are discussing doing it again. We will see.

Might I say that this event was most certainly worth the nearly 24 total hours of driving to and from Los Angeles. You guys were all amazing and hilarious. The script reading had to be my favorite part, as you all really went over the top with it in the best (and hilarious) ways possible. The autograph signing was also especially great (I was the short kid with long hair and the drawing). I got tons of great souvenirs that I’ll most certainly treasure all my life. Not only that, I actually received compliments from you five on my drawing, which I can honestly say is the most inspirational and motivational event in my entire life to date. I’d just like to thank you all again for arranging this. Truly an event I’ll never forget. I eagerly await to see if we’ll get another Rocko Live!

I had such an amazing time at Rocko live. I am truly honored to have met you now, and I hope it’s not the last time. It certainly didn’t feel like anyone came unprepared even if you felt that way. I wish the question and answers could have gone on longer, I certainly have many more! I think you should have a Rocko live show in the bay area, to get back to your roots! I know many Rocko fans in the bay who couldnt make it to la, that would love to go. Oy, That would be spectacular. I am so glad it happened at all though, thank you for organizing the event!! I walked away refreshed and inspired. Thank you Joe!!

I am so sad I couldn’t go! But more than that, I’m so happy that it was a big fun success! You guys all earned it. Also, congratulations on the baby!

Sound like you had a Lot-O-Fun! Too bad I was stuck here in Toronto. Oh, by the way, my friend (and yours) Aaron Long has made a new Fester Fish film! It’s called “Fester Makes Friends”. The HTML guidelines below the space I’m typing in lead me to believe that I shouldn’t try to post it here, but keep an eye out for it! Thanks.

  5. Zoran Taylor says:

*Oh yes, and of course a kid raised by you entering the world is always good news. Congradulations!

  6. Brody says:

Wow, congrats. Is this your first child with you current wife?

  7. Roxy says:

I am so sorry I missed this…please do another! I know it would be hard but if you did one somewhere on the east coast, I know a lot of people who would come!

  8. Andy Greig says:

Will we be able to hope for another Rocko event? I understand you can’t go around trying to please fans of an 18 year old show just anytime.

  9. Andy Greig says:

I’d also like to say that it was cool that you did this, even if I wasn’t there and, until recently, I hadn’t watched the show since I was three.
